    Castle William Augst. 30th. 1761

    Sr.

I have just recd yours of the 20th instant.322 The King George is under orders to convoy the Ordinance ship, & will, if the weather permits, sail tomorrow.323 The last of Thwings Regimt. sailed to day.324 By the end of this week the Musters of the other Regiments will be finished, which I hope will not be much short of their Compliments. I am Sorry they have been so delayed; but there have been no pains spared to complete them sooner. The want of Men is felt in all kind of business, especially in shipping, where the wages are become exorbitant.

I am with great regard, Sr. your most obedient &c &c

His Excy Majr. Genl. Sr. Jeffery Amherst.
