I have sent Capt. Hallowell in the provincial Ship with all the regular recruits that could be got together since the last party went to NYork.569 It is not in my power to raise Men for this purpose, unless the Danger was more urgent, untill the Assembly meets; which cant be till the End of this Month. I sent Admiral Pococke advise of the Invasion of Newfoundland by an Advise Boat express which probably is arrived there by this time; as She Sailed on Monday 19th of July. I shall keep the King George cruising between Halifax & Boston & probably add another armed Vessell to her, The Captain will have orders to communicate to you any Intresting advices that shall occur.

    I am with great regard

    The Honble. Lt. Govr Belcher
