    In Obedience to an Order of the Honoured General Court, dated October 15 last appointing us a Committee to receive the Returnes of the Selectmen of the Severall Townes referring to what is done concerning the Contribution for the New buildings of the Colledge. Accordingly we attended on the day appointed, and took the Returnes of the Townes hereafter mentioned, which is as follows

On October 15, 1679, the General Court ordered the selectmen of each town to hasten the collection of subscriptions for the new buildings at the College and to report to a committee5 on the first Wednesday in April, 1680.
